Originally conceived in Boston in the mid 90s by the late bass legend, Tim Lüntzel, The Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout  ultimately found their stride in the dive bars of New York City, where their musical proficiency grew into a mix of soul, jazz, and r ’n’ b.  In 2017, The Boog released "The Boog At Sunny's", a double album of the sweat, alcohol, and wild energy which has accompanied New York City's favorite bar band for two decades. 

Juanga Lakunza is a Grammy Nominated trombonist and composer fluent in both Jazz and Latin Jazz languages and with a profound knowledge in a variety of music styles. He has recorded and performed with Lakunza Brothers, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Arturo O ́Farrill & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Giovanni Hidalgo & Jubilation, Lance Bryant & Shout!, Eddie Allen ́s Aggregation Bigband, Mambo Legends Orchestra, Típica73, Willie Colón, Tito Nieves, La India and has shared the stage with luminaries such as Wynton Marsalis, Paquito D ́Rivera, Jon Faddis, Jeff “Tain”Watts, Joe Lovano, Bobby Shew, Pedrito Martínez and Ravi Coltrane.
