Cheo y Los Consentidos de la Casa is a New York salsa-funk orchestra led by Latin Grammy-winning Venezuelan guitarist and producer Cheo Pardo, a founding member of Los Amigos Invisibles. The band started at the legendary East Village club Nublu as a fresh take on Latin night and has since grown into a tight, adventurous ensemble with a sound all its own. Instead of a horn section, Los Consentidos lean on driving guitar riffs, spacey echoes, and deep funk grooves layered over classic salsa rhythms, so the music is rooted in tradition but unmistakably new.
The lineup includes some of the city’s most accomplished Latin and jazz musicians. Puerto Rican timbalero Fernando García is a celebrated bandleader whose album Behique was named one of the most influential Puerto Rican records of 2023. Bassist Dan Martínez has recorded with Rubén Blades, Al Jarreau, and David Sánchez. Latin Grammy winner Felipe Fournier plays vibraphone, bongo, and clave. Percussionist Neil has spent more than 30 years on the NYC scene and has worked with David Byrne and Ricky Martin. Eastman-trained pianist José has performed with Antibalas. Together they deliver explosive, dance-floor-ready live shows that have earned them a reputation as the best funk ’n’ salsa band in New York.
