Live Music Every Night Since 1937
Arthur’s Tavern has been a Greenwich Village landmark for more than 88 years—and we’ve never once charged a cover. Walk in any night of the week and hear live jazz, blues, or soul from musicians who’ve made this stage part of their life’s work.
Charlie Parker played this room enough to earn us the name “Home of the Bird.” The Grove Street Stompers have held Monday nights since 1962. That kind of history doesn’t get manufactured — it just keeps showing up and playing. Grab a cocktail, stay for the next set, and see for yourself.

Tales from our neighborhood
“Cool as it gets. Classic old-school New York bar, with welcoming staff, a masterful jazz band, and a buzzing clientele. This was my first visit to New York, and when planning it, I had hoped for a place like this. Well and truly delivered.”

“What an incredible place! Arriving at 5:30, we had the pleasure of listening to an extraordinary trio, followed by a band of a quality that made us understand why we were looking for this kind of place. If you like jazz, good wine and cocktails, and superb service, come to Arthur’s Tavern. A big thank you from France.”
