Danny Lipsitz leads his band, The Brass Tacks, in a high-energy mishmash of jazz, swing, early
rock ‘n’ roll, jump blues, klezmer, and New Orleans music. It’s captivating, feel-good music for
people from all walks of life, performed by some of the top musical talent in the world.
Danny Lipsitz, has an endless resume including work as a sideman to the most iconic rock ‘n’
roll, swing music, and jazz icons. In just the past few years, he has toured in over 15 countries
and performed performed, arranged, and recorded with artists like Julian Lennon, Bernie
Williams, Ronnie Spector, Harry Nilsson, The Gordon Webster Swing Band, The Hot Sardines,
Mark Hudson (Aerosmith, Ringo Starr, Ozzy Osbourne), Denny Laine (Wings, The Moody
Blues), Joey Molland (Badfinger, John Lennon, George Harrison), Carmine Appice (Vanilla
Fudge), Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon), The Louis Armstrong Eternity Band, Billy Vera,
Dr. Demento Covered in Punk, Maria Muldaur, Ginkgoa, Avalon Jazz Band, Lucky Chops Brass
Band, The Losers Lounge, Chris Norton, and many more.
In 2021, Danny and The Brass Tacks signed on with the Midori and Friends Foundation to
perform for and teach 36 classes at schools in NYC about the role of the saxophone in swing
and early rock ‘n’ roll music. In 2022, Danny Lipsitz and The Brass Tacks headlined the
acclaimed swing music festival “Swing On the Sound,” held for three days in Greenport, New
York.
