Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Art Bailey landed in NYC in 2003, immediately found his footing and has become a very sought after sideman on piano, organ, and accordion. Some of the many musicians he’s appeared or recorded with include Itzhak Perlman, Steve Turre, Steve Lacy, Kirk Knuffke, Guy Klucevsek, Matt Wilson, Adam Nussbaum, Andy Gonzales, and Elliot Zigmund.
One of Art’s favorite places to be is in a jazz piano trio. You’ll be hearing familiar and not-so-familiar American Song Book standards, classic jazz standards, as well as Art’s own compositions.
Art is new to Arthur’s as a leader, but for the last few years can be found as the youngest member of the oldest gig in town, The Creole Cookin’ Jazz Band, which has been performing at Arthur’s Tavern every Sunday since 1986.
