Alicia Renee a.k.a. “Blue Eyes” – nicknamed for her natural and bright blue eyes – is based in the French Quarter of New Orleans,  born in Flint, Michigan and has been performing on stages since the age of 6. Nicknamed the “Gem of the Vieux Carre” by her beloved New Orleans fans, Alicia honed her vocal talent and love of all genres of music from Opera to Jazz, at the Flint Institute of Music, also studying piano, flute, clarinet and trumpet.  

From her first performance in The Wiz musical in middle school, to singing in venues all over the world, “Blue” has performed at La Scene in Paris, the Jazz Café in London, the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland, and the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. And Recently Featured in 2022 5 time Grammy award winning Jon Batiste Latest Video .

From performing in front of music legends such as Quincy Jones, Grace Jones, Eric Clapton and George Duke, just to name a few, Alicia has shared the stage with top artists such as Indie Arie , Kinfolk Brass Band, Kermitt Ruffins, 9X Grammy award winning Easy Mo Bee , and has collaborated with Dwele, The Last Poets, Corey Henry & The Treme Funktet, amongst others. 

After returning from Switzerland and  living there for 10 years, performing at jazz venues and festivals across Europe. She has lived in New Orleans and performed with a multitude of respected artists, including the Treme Brass Band, Corey Henry and Kermit Ruffins, at such venues like Preservation Hall, The Blue Nile, New Orleans Jazz Museum, The Jazz Playhouse, Little Gem Saloon, Snug Harbor (with the Great Late Ellis Marsalis) , and will be performing at the 2022 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage  Festival in a special Tribute to Louis Armstrong & Velma Middleton. 

Her music is on frequent rotation on WWOZ 90.7FM, New Orleans’ beloved jazz radio station. She has received respect & accolades from artists including  Dee Dee Bridgewater, Eric Clapton, Wyclef Jean, Erykah Badu, Jamiroquai, Golden Globe Award winning and Oscar Nominated Actress Juliette Lewis & more over her career.
